I started my career in the 90s in construction—an ‘alpha’ environment, especially tough for someone who avoided conflict.

Over time, I learned:
- Conflict is driven by ego, rooted in fear.
- How people behave towards you is not about you.
- Creating space in a heated moment lets you handle almost anything.

I practise the art of ‘no big deal’ in difficult situations. It reduces tension and protects my mental space. Avoid adding to drama—that’s how you stay clear.

Next time conflict appears, try making it ‘no big deal.’
